Temporary And Permanent Tattoo Cover Up Solutions

By Amy Ward

Very few people consider the possibility of removing or covering up a tattoo at the time they decide to get it. However, many find themselves looking for a solution for tattoo cover up down the line and may find that it is actually a necessity. Many employers now require that their employees cover any visible tattoo especially if it is a business environment. Then one might simply regret the decision to get the tattoo and want to have it changed completely. These are just a couple viable reasons one might have to look into solutions.

Before really looking into solutions that may be available for tat cover up, one should decide what end result they are looking for. A decision should be made whether they are looking for the tattoo to be covered temporarily or if it should be permanent. Additionally, figuring out what their budget is may also be a consideration in determining what to look into and what will work as a viable solution.

If we want it to be more permanent, there really are only two options. The first is to undergo the removal process. This option can be costly, lengthy, and painful. It is important to note that there are advances occurring in this industry that is introducing new less painful ways to remove unwanted body art.

The second option may be feasible if it does not really need to be removed. Lightening the tat or changing the original appearance into something that is more meaningful or appealing may be all the cover up needed. After all, times and tastes change so updating the body art to something that is more appealing to our changing taste makes sense.

If something more appealing sounds like an option, changing the original tattoo to something else may be an option for you. Obviously it depends on the size, color, and placement of the original one. Let us not forget the artist that is tackling the job. Choose one that is more experienced as they will provide the most options in the least amount of time and perhaps ensure that it is done right the second time around.

Thought and care should be taken when choosing the actual artist. It is tricky to cover up an existing design with a new design. Finding an artist who has lots of experience in cover up will increase the success rate. Covering the old ink successfully into a re-designed piece of art is really an art form itself.

Once research has been completed, it may be decided that a temporary fix might be good enough. If this is the case, one can find various concealers and makeup which was designed specifically for the use of covering up tats. These products are quite easy to find and available everywhere. The variety of products include smudge proof and waterproof options. There are also products guaranteeing maximum results.

Concealers come in many different shades to which allows coverage for matching various skin tones. Others provide tips to mix the product to match different skin tones better. There is yet another option if the tattoo is on either the leg or arm. There are stretch bandages are temporary options as they easily slide on and off making it a solution that can be used every day. Whatever the reason, cover up products are often needed and sought for both permanent solutions and temporary solutions alike.
